Fun Times

Lauren now loves being on her belly. She will rarely stay on her back. Only problem is that she's still spitting up a lot and often spits up without me seeing it and then puts her face in it. It's a mess and she's even gotten it in her eyes a few times, poor thing! She's sleeping on her belly which makes me nervous, but I guess it's inevitable.

Last weekend we went to a Witch's Tea Party and the girls had fun dressing up like witches and partying with their friends. Thanks Maria for the great event- Natalie was SO impressed I won the candy corn guessing jar.

Valla had her Daisy Girl Scout Investiture that welcomes all new scouts. We made daisy crowns and she had to recite the Girl Scout promise and law.

This past weekend was the UF Homecoming. The girls and I tried to go to the parade on Friday. It was raining and had to park about 6 blocks away... in a tow away zone. We made it to the parade route, but only stayed about 15 minutes in part due to the rain and my fear of being towed and totally screwed with 3 kids and no car! Of course the trek back to the car was long, wet, and at one point I had L in the front baby carrier & N on my back while I tried to keep us dry with the golf umbrella. Valla had made her own cheering signs-

Niki, Bill, & Will came for a visit and while Bill & Jason watched the Gators destroy Kentucky, the rest of us headed to feed carrots to old horses at a local retirement horse farm. They loved it, both the kids and the horses! Me... not so much a horse person.

Here's Lauren's new 'trick'.

Natalieism- Lately she keeps saying, "Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin?!" Doesn't seem to matter what she's thinking, she still thinks we're thinking it too. :)

Time for Pumpkins

Last weekend, Niki, Will & my Mom came up to watch the girls so Jason & I could take in our only Gator game of the season together. We had a fabulous time and they visited the pumpkin patch. They got some great photos of everyone.

Lauren is now 4.5 months, 13 pounds and rolling everywhere! Now that she rolls, she prefers to sleep on her belly. She's very vocal and if you bounce her or pat her hand over her mouth, she'll hum to make more noise.

Since being officially For Sale for 16 days we've had 7 different people look at the house. 6 during our 2 Open Houses and one called for a showing. No one has come back for more. As the days tick by and we've watched many of our investments disappear these last few weeks it seems our chances of going to London are also disappearing. We plan to make a final decision around the beginning of Nov, but it seems spring in Gainesville is in the cards for us!

Natalieisms:

  • "Mom, I love you even though you have green eyes." (the rest of the family has blue)

  • Our weather radio announced a tornado warning and Nat asked if our house was going to spin like Dorothy's.

  • She felt her heart "beeping" as she calls it and says, "Grandma Betty's is going to stop soon." (She's 89)

  • We baked a cake and she announced, "I like to bake, I like to make all kinds of good junk!"

  • "Mommy, you're all the time pretty."

  • "If that lady buys our house today we'll have to go straight to the airport & get to London."

  • Valla had a good one this week, "I bet they have tons of pencils in Pennsylvania."

10 years & counting

To be totally honest, I didn't know how well our marriage would be when we got married. I knew we loved each other, I knew we 'got' each other, and I knew we had the communication skills and desire to work through any issues that would arise. But I didn't know after 10 years of marriage and 15 years of being together that our relationship & life would be this good. I am constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop because I have such a blessed life. (Not by our marriage falling apart, more like car accident fall apart.)

Jason, you are such an amazing person. Your desire to work hard and provide for your girls is unmatched. Your character and ability to gracefully handle difficult situations is admired. You look at new situations as adventures. You show me a lot of love and make me feel appreciated (almost all the time!) I couldn't ask for a better father for my 3 girls. I am so glad they have a wonderful example of what kind of husband I wish for, for them.

Thank you for the flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, more flowers & beautiful ring. You did a really good job celebrating our anniversary. I love you.

Short & Sweet (don't feel like typing :)

I love this photo of Mike and the girls, it was great to have him visit.

Granmary & Lauren

Valla wanted some cooked pumpkin seeds so they cleaned out a pumpkin. Judging from how fast they ate this batch, I'm sure we'll be doing this a few more times this month.

My attempt to get our photo in the mirror.

She's rolling! She's so proud of herself, but isn't crazy about being on her belly once she gets there.

Natalieisms:
  • V: "Natalie was a little bit scared." N: "No, I was full of scared!"
  • "I would eat the whole world... if it was made of perogies."
  • "I'm never going to change my earrings, but you'll have to take them out when I die."
