Memorable Nuggets

N, "Do fishermen ever catch mermaids?"

I saw L pick up a random cup and take a drink. I asked, "What's in that cup you're drinking?". She answers, "water... it's not beer!"

L,"mom your carpet is ripped (in our master closet)...probably a shark ate it."

"Be a dragonqueen" is how L sings it and Lady Gaga sings it, "Don't be a drag just be a queen."

L said, "how that baby get out of her belly? It come out her butt? It come out of her mouth? It come out a cat door?"

Mary commented, "I didn't know you could graduate w out knowing how to read!"
Nat, "Granma, you didn't know how to read when you graduated?!"

L and N were squabbling over something when N screamed and said L tried to bite her. I questioned L and she explained, "there no blood in her". Guess it didn't count to her as biting unless there's blood :(

L was looking at pictures on my phone and announced, "how i do Faceblog?"

L has high employment aspirations. She stated, "I gonna be that when I get bigger...." She points to the guard at the security gate.

N, "I don't know what I wanna be, I wanna be lots of people."

As we drove through heavy fog N asked, "mom do you have your nightlights on?"

Random Thought Thursday

  • I love that V was VERY excited about the release of the list of the state's special chapter books.
  • It's nice to have dinner w family.
  • I hope I don't regret not having another baby later. Seems like SO much work.
  • I want to scrapbook, but feel so stuck and uncreative.
  • I really dislike goody bags at birthday parties... both creating them and my kids receiving them.
  • Birthday party goody bags are a BIG deal to my kids.
  • Can't believe school is almost done for the year. Excited for a relaxing summer and lots of time to just hang with my kids.
  • I'm sad it seems N's pet mouse is dying. Not much we can (or will) do for a $3 mouse.
  • It's amazing how much effort we put into trying to keep ourselves and other things from dying even though it's totally inevitable and no one has ever beat the odds.
  • I'm starting to miss exercise but not quite enough to actually exercise.
  • I'm looking forward to watching So You Think You Can Dance, one of my girls and my favorites!
  • Bossypants by Tina Fey was s great funny read.

Visiting Shampoo

It's awesome to live so close and have passes to Sea World.  There's no pressure to see it all or cram it all in.

Today's visit was all about seeing Shampoo as LG calls Shamu.  In all the years and times I've seen the Shamu Show, this was the first time I got there 45 minutes early to get a great seat.  It was neat to be SO close to such an amazing animal.  The girls were pretty impressed too.

The new show has LOTS of water shooting and splashing everywhere.

Lauren had a pretty great view.
 Kissing whales
This employee was very important... I knew when to slip my camera into the plastic bag and keep it safe from the splashes based upon when she suited up in her rain gear!

After the show the much needed rain showers hit complete with VERY loud and close crashing thunder.  Squabbling sisters can quickly become comforts to each other.

After a break in the weather it was ride time.  They got 1 ride in and then it started to rain  again.  But that's ok, because we'll be back again and again and again!

Fun With Kids

Our Daisy troop hosted a Fun Field Day.
Here's Nat and friends trying to eat a donut off a string.

Valla's turn! (in the green shirt)
 Not to be left out!

Natalie's 1st grade put on a music production called, Barnyard Moosical!
Here's our little piggie.  (Double click to see any photo larger.)

Aunt Amy & Uncle Michael came all the way from Australia to see the star.

Dresses

I had a successful sewing project!
Mary sewed both of LG's dresses and I made Val and Nat's.

Biggest Ice Cream Sundae Ever

Lauren has been doing pretty good potty training but has had some difficulties, so Jason enticed her with promises of the "BIGGEST ICE CREAM SUNDAE EVER" if she did the deed.

It worked!

Here's pure gluttony all in the name of being rid of diapers...

Of course today when she was once again successful, she asked when she gets the ice cream again.

Mother's Day

I was showered with love on Mother's Day.  The girls and Jason let me sleep in then treated me to French Toast in bed followed by presents, a bath and massage.

Then it was off to lunch...

Afterwards we traveled down to International Drive to go indoor skydiving!
It was very cool, easy for everyone and I highly recommend it!

All suited up and ready to go...

 Mary's turn...
