Getting Out and About

Round Two- Jan 14th Waiting at the Airport
The girls did amazingly well on the two flights it took to jump the pond. The 2nd flight from Cincinnati to London was great because each seat had it's own tv with free movies and games. The girls slept a little but I wasn't able to at all. We landed in London at 3am our time and then wrangled the 10 suitcases. It was an 1.5 hour drive to the house. That first day is such a blur...it was exhausting. It's taking a little bit of time to both catch up on sleep and adjust to the 5 hour time difference. We're getting there!

Airplane Natalieisms-
  • She's listening to the flight attendant talk about no smoking in the "cabin" and the pressure in the "cabin" She turns to me and says, "What cabin, there's no cabin, this is an airplane!"
  • We're squeezed together in the tiny airplane bathroom, we flush and as the blue water starts to swirl around in the bowl she states, "THAT is so beautiful!"

Our London house is amazing! It's exactly like the photos from the internet when we found it. There are so many neat shops within walking distance. The main grocery store is a bus ride away. We're still figuring out things like the washing machine that is also a clothes dryer! It's been really windy here, not sure if it's usually like this or just the current weather but this morning we woke up to the radiators burning up and the top two floors were blazing. Apparently the wind had blown open the back door which we thought we'd fastened and the thermostat downstairs dropped and the heaters were trying to keep up. Most things here are the same just slightly different!

Today we tagged along Jason's school program's guided bus tour of Central London. We drove by so many amazing things we plan to actually visit in the months to come.
An average street
It's Chinese New Year in Chinatown
Prince Albert's memorial (I think)
One of my favorite photos...
Buckingham Palace
A Pub
Parliament & Big Ben
A Protest Demonstration...lots of police in some areas.
St. Paul's Cathedral
Yes, here's our super touristy cheesy typical London photo... I LOVE IT!

We're on Skype, the free internet webcam and phone site. Join and find us... our username is jmboffey.

Our cell phones here are expensive to use, but if you need to call Jason at 44-7748250996 or better yet, come visit!!
