On the St. Johns

This past Sunday we spent it as I did many many times as a kid...boating on the St John's river. I was never a big fan when I was a kid, too many alligators, moccasins, and squishy mucky river bottoms for me. But like most things, having time away and not boating in years gave me a new appreciation for being on the river. Plus now no one was making me get in the cypress dyed, reptile infested waters in order to be drug behind a speeding boat in the name of fun :)
The girls absolutely loved the river and really enjoyed their day with their grandparents and cousins.

It was too hot not to get into the water. They were nervous at first, but quickly felt comfortable enough to jump off the boat and into the river.Love the time lapse setting...V's walking on water!
N's turn!

L loved floating.

Blue Springs
The spring water is always 72 degrees...much colder than the main river.
Jason 'helping' Val take the plunge.
Brave Natalie
After the first time, Val decided it was fun...
Little L and I opted for hanging out on the stairs.
After being inspired by the girls' bravery...I took the leap with Valla & Jason.
Freezing but feeling good!

Popsicle & Ice cream break.

It was a wonderful day and Natalie said she wants to go on the boat "one thousand thirty more times!" Thanks Gary and Myra for the fun day. Next time we'll have to drag them behind the speeding boat!

Nataliesims-
The principal at her school has her doctorate and is therefore called Dr. Nixon. Natalie told me her teacher is the boss of the kids and the principal/big boss of the whole school is in the clinic. She took the Dr. title very literally!

N, "I met a girl on the bus, she's my friend."
Me, "What's her name?"
N, "I don't know... they call her something."

"Mom, is the desert soooo hot that you have to wear a tank top?"
