Part of our reason for coming as a family to London was to experience different things and show the girls that there are different customs, traditions, and ways of doing things all over the world. London has certainly shown us a different way to celebrate Easter!
There aren't ANY Easter baskets, egg dying kits, Easter grass, white eggs to dye, big chocolate bunnies, Reese's peanut butter eggs, Peeps, plastic fill-able eggs or Easter Egg Hunts! Those are kinda the basics of our American Easter! What is big here is a big formal dinner of lamb or fish. The kids seem to get one large chocolate egg and there are Easter Egg trails where kids look for tokens and then turn them in for a small bag of chocolate.
We attempted to dye Easter eggs with food coloring and vinegar, but first I had to find eggs that aren't brown, not an easy task. I was able to find pale pastel eggs. We took a shot at dying the eggs, but the dye didn't want to stick.
V collecting flowers for an Easter centerpiece.
Easter Morning- we took the preventative method of pulling all the shades in their room and they slept in until about 8am- nice.
N found her basket!
Easter Natlieisms-
- We were talking about heaven and N commented, "Yeah, it's up in the sky, but you can't see the dead bodies when you go into space."
- N asked, "Did the Easter Bunny have any babies?"
