Lauren is having a hard time with one of life's tough lessons... death.
She really likes kitty cats and really all animals. While she was staying with my Dad and Myra, who live in a very rural area she saw a "broken kitty" as she calls it. Seems a fox or some other wild animal made a meal from someone's cat. She saw the remains and has been very upset and mad about the "broken kitty." She's mentioned it several times.
We've talked to her about the fox needing to eat and how he can't go to the store. We've told her the kitty is ok and it isn't hurting anymore. We've changed the subject but she's still both mad and sad about the poor broken kitty.
The spirit-body disconnect upon death is comforting for those who can understand it. A 2 year old can not. I know she'll soon forget or at least I hope she does. I hate not being able to soothe her discomfort and distress.
