Get Away Weekend

Jason and I have been talking for a few months about trying to schedule a vacation for just the two of us.  We looked at Mexican resorts, contemplated a quick & cheap FL beach weekend and about 5 weeks ago I checked a few web sites and texted him to tell him I was booking us a weekend cruise and to save the dates.

It was perfect and exactly the recharge and down time we were hoping for.

Dinner #1

We went with the cheapest room on board, inside cabin on Deck 2,  I loved it!  It was so quiet, still and dark.  I have never slept so good on a vacation.  It's also nice being at the end of the elevator shaft, it's never already full when it starts with your floor!
 Love this water~
We'd been to Nassau lots of times and were looking for something different.  Trip Advisor once again didn't disappoint when it recommended Bahamas Segway Tours as it's #1 excursion.  It was so much fun and reasonably priced.
This is Ed teaching Jason the basics.  He's visiting Disney with his family in a few weeks :)

These are tossed aside conch shells.  The animals have been taken out of them to eat and this is the trash pile.  We found a pretty one to bring home.  Natalie replied, "I've wanted one of these my WHOLE life!"

We took a break at this gorgeous beach and swam in the 90 degree water, bliss!
Later we joined the locals for conch salad and conch fritters.

 Dinner #2
 Sunday we spent here....
 Little hermit crab
We're getting good at these self photos!
 Our ship
The open hole where the tender connects.
 Dinner #3
We met some new friends in our assigned table mates, great people!  Turns out Holly and Will (sitting across from us) were at the strawberry picking place the same time and day we were & live next to a friend of ours from high school, such a small small world.
Most people like the folded towel animals, the hanging ones freak me out when I flip on the light and see something hanging.  At least this cruise I didn't let out a blood curdling scream.

Thank you thank you Niki, Bill, Gary, Myra, Mary and Kelly for taking care of our kids and animals so we could get a few days by ourselves.  It was perfect. :)
