We have reached the half way point in our 'experience of a lifetime' over here in jolly old England and it's safe to say we're all looking forward to returning home on May 2nd. To be quite honest, how many museums can you drag the kids to and how can you continue to sincerely appreciate another _______________ (fill in the blank with= painting, old building, sculpture, quaint village, monument, ruin, or worldly icon.)
It IS a wonderful experience and it IS an opportunity of a lifetime, but it's also a lot of work relying solely on public transportation, living with small children in a rental owned by a temperamental landlord & not having the 'luxuries' of suburban American life.
We do have some exciting things planned for our last 7 weeks here including 2 visits from family & friends, a family wide trip to the tulip festival in Amsterdam and a 'Mary and me' weekend to Rome. I know...poor me...right? To be clear, we are not miserable, just looking forward to the conclusion.
As for where that leads us to...that remains to be seen. Right now we have two storage units in Longwood bursting with our possessions. The current plan is to rent the same temporary furnished Lake Mary apartment we did this past summer and to shop around for a place to call home for the next few years. Something near downtown Orlando is ideal and we hope to be settled this summer.
Jason graduates May 15th, then immediately starts his Bar prep classes (which will be his full time job for 2 months). He'll be MIA studying until he takes the Bar the end of July. He's taking Aug off and then rejoins the working world in Sept.
wow... 3 years kinda flew.
